Ocean Piercing (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit www.oceanpiercing.com, book an appointment, or visit our studio, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us. When you book, contact us, or complete our paperwork, we may collect:
your name, phone number, and email address;
your date of birth and a copy of your ID (required to verify age);
signed consent forms, including health and medical information you provide on them;
for minors, the notarized parent or guardian consent form and a copy of the parent or guardian’s ID;
your appointment details, piercing and jewelry choices, and aftercare and healing check-in messages;
photos of your piercing, if you allow us to take them.
Payment information. Deposits and payments are processed by Stripe through our booking software, REV23. Your card details go directly to Stripe, and we do not see or store your full card number. Stripe’s use of your information is covered by its own privacy policy.
Information collected automatically. Our website is hosted by Squarespace, which may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and referring site, using cookies and similar tools. This helps keep the site secure and shows us how it is used.
2. How We Use Your Information
to schedule, confirm, and provide your appointment and verify your age;
to keep the client and consent records we are required or expected to keep for body piercing;
to send appointment confirmations, reminders, and aftercare check-ins;
to answer your questions and respond to health or aftercare concerns;
to send marketing messages, only if you separately opt in;
to run, secure, and improve our website and business, and to meet legal and regulatory requirements.
3. Text and Email Messages
Our booking software, REV23, collects your phone number when you book and sends automated appointment confirmations, reminders, and aftercare check-ins by text and email. Joanna can also see your number and may text or call you about your appointment or aftercare. We use your phone number only for appointment-related communication, and for marketing texts only if you have given us permission. You can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP, and out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link. Message and data rates may apply. We do not sell or share your mobile phone number or text opt-in information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
4. Photos
We take photos of your piercing and share them on social media or in our marketing only if you give us permission on your consent form. If you would like a photo of you removed, contact us and we will take it down.
5. Who We Share Information With
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, such as our booking and consent-form software (REV23), payment processor (Stripe), text and email tools, and website host, and only as needed for them to provide their services. We may also disclose information if required by law, or by a health or licensing authority, or to protect the safety of our clients and the studio.
6. Records and How Long We Keep Them
We keep client records, consent forms, and ID copies for as long as the law and the health department require. We keep them in password-protected systems and limit who can see them. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technology, which are small files stored on your device. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may not work as well without them. Our booking page is provided by a third party and has its own cookies and privacy practices.
8. Your Choices
You may ask to see the personal information we have about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. We may need to keep some records, such as signed consent forms, where required by law or for our legal protection. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
9. Children’s Privacy
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them online. Minors can be pierced only with a notarized parent or guardian consent form, and a parent or guardian provides the information needed to book and complete the paperwork.
10. Third-Party Links
Our site links to other sites, such as our booking page and social media. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.

We may update this policy from time to time. The version posted on this page, with the date above, is the current one.
